桓武平氏良文流千葉氏族.佐賀県小城市[肥前国小城郡晴気保]を発祥の地とする.千葉一族の岩部兵衛三郎常正の子・六郎左衛門胤晴が江藤と称したことが起源という.江藤胤晴は円城寺胤清とともに千葉胤貞[1288-1336]に従って下総国から肥前国へと下向.家紋は九曜など.
