清和源氏頼政流馬場氏族.兵庫県豊岡市[但馬国木崎郡及川荘]を発祥の地とする.源頼政の子・仲綱[1126-1180]が及川荘を領して及川左衛門尉盛綱と名乗ったことが起源.一族は奥州に下向した.家紋は片喰,中輪に抱き澤瀉など.
