土師姓大枝氏族.京都府京都市西京区大江[山城国乙訓郡大江郷]を発祥の地とする.延暦9[791]年,土師諸上らが桓武天皇の命により土師宿禰から大枝朝臣へと改姓.さらに,貞観8[866]年10月,大枝音人[811-877]が大枝から大江へと改姓したことが起源.家紋は長門三つ星など.
