藤原北家隆家流.羽林家.坊門中納言親信[1137-1197]を家祖とする.坊門中納言親信は後白河法皇の寵愛を受けた.坊門中納言親信の子・信成[1197-1262]が配流された後鳥羽上皇から水無瀬離宮跡の管理を任され水無瀬神宮を建立した.
