清和源氏義光流武田氏族.源清光の子の義遠が甲斐国青島荘浅利郷に拠って浅利を称したことが起源.文治5[1189]年,奥羽合戦の戦功により,浅利義遠が源頼朝から陸奥国比内地方の地頭職を得て陸奥に勢力を敷衍.
