岐阜県高山市丹生川町小木曽[こぎそ]を発祥の地とする.小木曽[こぎそ]には木曽義仲の遺児を含む残党が落ち延びたと言う伝説がある.彼らは加賀白山大神及び信濃木曽御岳大神を勧請し白山神社[丹生川町北方]を建立したという.白山神社は小八賀郷の小木曽・殿垣内・下坪・桐山・細越の五ヶ村の産土神とされた.
家紋は丸に桔梗など.
