香川県仲多度郡まんのう町生稲が発祥の地か.現在は千葉県に多い名字.正平10/文和4[1355]年2月に摂津国神南[大阪府高槻市神内]における足利尊氏方の足利義詮軍と南朝方と組んだ足利直冬方の山名時氏との間の神南の戦いにおいて,義詮軍中の四国勢の秋間兵庫助兄弟とともに生稲四郎左衛門一族が討ち死にしたことが知られる[太平記].
