物部氏族,膳臣族.高橋神社の鎮座地[奈良県奈良市八条]を発祥の地とする高橋連は物部氏族.磐鹿六雁命[いわやむつかりのみこと]の末裔である高橋朝臣は内膳司奉膳を務めた.また,紀長谷雄の末裔の紀宗成を祖とする御厨子所預の高橋氏もある.代表的家紋は丸に笠.
