鍛冶造氏流守部連氏族,もしくは,守君氏部民氏族.守部連は神亀5[728]年に鍛冶造大隅が守部連を賜姓されたことが起源[続日本紀].大宝律令の撰定にも参加したことで知られる.
守君氏部民に由来する守部氏は美濃国に拡がっていた.
家紋は丸に桔梗など.
