科野国造金刺氏族.諏訪大社下社大祝金刺氏の一族であり,下諏訪の高木城に拠った.永正15[1518]年に金刺昌春が諏訪頼満に敗れて甲斐国に逃れると高木氏も金刺昌春に従ったと考えられる.武田氏の諏訪五十騎衆の中に高木正兵衛・高木清七郎の名がある.
