日奉氏族西党氏族.現在の日野市下田,かつての田村を発祥の地とする.田村氏の居館の跡は田村山安養寺となっている.平安時代に田村駄太郎知實とその子の三郎弘綱が知られる.
田村安栖の邸は北条氏政・氏照兄弟の切腹の場所となった.家紋は三つ並び矢など.
