武蔵七党猪俣党.埼玉県深谷市武蔵野飯塚を発祥の地とする.藤田能国の子の氏行[小前田野三郎信国の弟]が飯塚掃部左衛門尉と称したことが起源.飯塚館に拠った.なお,飯塚氏行の甥・桜沢宗氏の弟の盛氏も飯塚新左衛門尉と称している.盛氏の系統は南飯塚氏と呼ばれる.
家紋は丸に橘など.
