藤原北家道兼流宇都宮氏族.福岡県三潴郡大木町を発祥の地とする.宇都宮知久が源頼朝から筑後国山門郡を賜わり同郡大木村に拠って大木主計頭と称したことが起源.家紋は左三つ巴など.
