明石国造家族.明石国造[都弥自宿禰]の玄孫の浜男が三韓征伐の功績により神功皇后より西海の姓を賜ったことが起源とされる.香椎宮の境外末社に浜男神社がある.また,神戸市垂水区の五色塚古墳は明石国造の墓と考えられている.家紋は丸に違い鷹の羽など.
